Snapshot of the number of shipments imported per year:

We track release volume or shipment volume for all of Canada here:

The USA shipment volume is harder to track down by month, but there are trade statistics published here:
https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/trade
Along with some trade data reports like "CBP Trade and Travel Report Fiscal Year 2019 January 2020"
